Author and human rights advocate Michelle LeClair has defied all traditional odds.


In her memoir, Perfectly Clear (Penguin Random House), Michelle LeClair describes her harrowing escape from Scientology and complicated journey to self-acceptance.


Growing up with her single mother in Norman, Oklahoma, Michelle later moved to Los Angeles at the age of 15. There, she catapulted to a life of enormous success surrounded by celebrities but all the while hiding a truth buried deep within her.

 

By the time Michelle LeClair was in her mid-30s, she was a running one of the largest woman-owned life insurance agencies in the nation, donating millions of dollars to charitable organizations, and serving as the U.S. President to an International Human Rights Charity. 

 

Just a few years later, however, Michelle LeClair’s life would take a major detour, a great love would open her eyes to the dark world that she was a part of her quest for freedom would cause a major setback that she would spend years fighting to overcome as she broke free from the shackles of Scientology.
